Special Interest Clubs
The Brule School Clubs have been developed to address special interests of young people in this area. These clubs allow members to work with special types of audio, video, or computer equipment, art supplies that may not be available to them at home or in school, while socializing with students from other educational backgrounds (such as homeschooled students or students from neighboring school districts) and learning material that goes above and beyond state curriculum requirements.
The clubs are meant to help students throughout the area socialize with others who have similar interests. As such these clubs help club members learn more about themselves as individuals within a broader societal context and develop new social skills that will be valuable to them as adults. We encourage club members to be active in their community. We work with professional musicians, artists, writers, actors, and other individuals to connect students in Western Nebraska and Eastern Colorado to other opportunities throughout the state and the nation. Club members are encouraged to “dream big” through brainstorming and then make their dreams into something realistic and plausible through research and hard work.
Membership dues are used to pay for equipment, supplies, and the time and efforts of an adult supervisor or mentor for the club. A website is provided to each club, but club members are responsible for maintaining their site’s written and photographic content. Most clubs will be responsible for writing content for a newsletter that will be distributed in communities near the Brule School. Each club will be given a meeting place in the school as well as an area to decorate within the school advertising the goings on of their particular club.
You will find more information about clubs, and OUR clubs on this page. For right now, the club meeting schedule is as follows:
